Part of Me by Katy Perry....NOT about her ex-husband
Have you heard or read the lyrics of Katy Perry's new song, "Part of Me"? Check out the lyrics here if you haven't.
At the time the song was released, shortly after her divorce from Russell Brand, the whole world assumed that the song was about him (right now, the Janet Jackson song that says "I bet you think this song is about you" is playing in my head)
Katy Perry, however, in an interview, says that the song is not about him...as a matter of fact, she says it's was written years back, when she and Russel were two hopeless love birds. Furthermore, at the time she wrote it, she intended to release it at the time she did.
Is it just pure coincidence or is all this kinna creepy??

Despite the lyrics, the timing of the release, and pretty much everyone's interpretation, Katy Perry said her latest single "Part of Me" is not about freshly minted ex-husband Russell Brand. But Perry's words aren't just a simple denial: Turns out the song had been written (and leaked) in 2010, just two months into the superstar couple's quickie marriage.
Creepy omen, or simple coincidence?
Perry revealed to MTV News recently that that some of her music machine colleagues urged her to lie and say she wrote "Part of Me" just a few weeks ago to fit her current relationship debacle—but she refused. "I'm going to tell the truth," she said. "I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream." The song didn't make it onto the album, but the 27-year-old future divorcee had wanted to release it as a single around this time anyway and hopefully perform it at a big awards show (like the Grammys perhaps?).
Hard as it may be to believe or even remember, Katy Perry's angst-ridden lyrics have nothing to do with Russell Brand:
