This is how I see life, humans and destiny.
We all knw that most of our life is pre-ordained. Our life paths are set and our eventual destiny is already designated. I do not dispute this teaching.
BUT
let us not forget that God blessed us with free will. He doesn't dictate a life path for us neither does he force us to follow his own decisions for us; all he does is suggest to us and if we let him, he guides us to the pre-ordained path we should take and in the right time too.
I came across a friend's post, uears back, that said destiny can not be altered or delayed coz even the delay is pre-ordained, well, friend, you are right, but also wrong.
As my mum made me realise through a corky tale she used to tell, there are always two paths, two options...at every point in time, at least two things can happen. In as much as provision has been made in your destiny's circle to accomodate the delay, should your choices lead to such, there is also a path that includes no delay at that particular point in time.
This is how I see life, humans and destiny.
We, the humans, all posses and occupy a constantly moving webbed circle. This circle has lots of windows and doors which open at various times to intertwine with the webbed circles of other humans...these are the doors/ windows of opportunity and/or backfalls through life that we either reject or accept to our betterment or detriment.
If, for instance, at the age of 10, you are to come in contact with two people; one, a rich dead relative who leaves you with a sizable inheritance, and the second, a 16 year old kid you have always admired from a distance who, in his own circle, has a series of life decisions to make that will either turn him into a rascal or a responsible individual, and in your part, you decide to wholly take on the possibilities of both doors, your life can and may be radically changed by the decisions that friend eventually makes. If you decide to let him totally influence your decisions and he decides to be a rascal...well, you know the story and how it affects you.
If really, our destinies can't be delayed or ultimately determined by us and the choices we make, what then is the essence of religion, faith and belief? why then do we all strive to live lives that we have been taught will earn us a place in the bossom of our LORD? Why then do we go to church or the mosque or the shrine and read the bible or quaran or whatever holy book our faith believes in? Why then do we believe in and try to please a supreme being and creator?
The answer is simple...we make the choices, we determine the eventual course of our destiny. The simple fact that you choose to take a glass of water at 5am instead of 5.05am had an unchangeable effect on the way the web of that particular decision has branched off.
I also belive that the things and people that come our way are destined, but what we do with the things; how we treat the people; how we build on or dismantle situations and circumstances are our decisions....choices that have already been laid down for us by the destiny we have chosen for ourselves by virtue of the decisions we took in the past...even is the past is just an hour ago.
I also believe that when it would have been better to go left and you went right, you have to keep going till you come to that junction again, than you can go left. That junction may come your way again within the same amount of time it took for you to get to it in the first place, but if you learn well from mistakes, it might take you a shorter amount of time. The junction will not look exactly the same, so you would have to be extremely alert to realise you have been at it before and remember to go left instead of right.
This is a little expose on the way i see life, humans and destiny.
