The Longest Weekend of the year

The Easter weekend is usually the longest weekend of the year in Nigeria. We get the Friday before Easter (Good Friday) and the Monday after Easter as public holidays.

It's a perfect time to spend with family and friends, create and build relationships, celebrate love and the resurrection of Christ. However, the truth about life is that, to do all this bonding and quality time spending, we need a number of things. So, here are some tips to help us get through this long weekend, extremely happy.

1. Have some loose cash and/or access to quick cash: All the Fun you want to have can only happen if you can pay for some pleasures...weather its dinner, a park outing, a comedy show or even eating in, you need money to handle the bill. 

2. Fill up your fuel tank: For those of you with cars, today would be a good day to stay in line and fill up your tank. Also, for those of you who plan to stay home, the fuel for your generator should also be available coz we can not place too much hope in our dear PHCN. 

3. Stock up your fridge: Whether you want to stay home all through or spend considerable time out doors, you will still end up going to your house. So, make sure you have nice things to eat, water, drinks and a little of some of your favorite quick edibles.

4. Connect with Friends and Family: The weekend is too long to spend absolutely alone (unless that is your thing). So, call up some friends or get members of your family that you can get to come around...or hey, take a trip and be with members of your family. However you wanna do it, just try to make sure you are not entirely alone.

 5. Remember the reason for the season: We are on holiday because Christ died on the cross and rose again. So even though we want to enjoy the long weekend, let's not loose sight of this.
