Do you ever wonder why you don’t hear the voice of God calling you, like say…Samuel of the old testament?
Do you ever wonder why you don’t wake up everyday, certain that the Lord has spoken to you and told you exactly what path to walk?
Do you ever think to yourself “surely, God doesn’t speak to this generation like he did to the generations of old"...?

Well, the truth is, he does…but we don’t listen.


If you don’t listen for the whimper of a hungry baby, you won’t hear it until it turns into a wail (and even at that, some of us are just to buried in ourselves to hear).

The voice of the Lord is softer than the whimper of a baby, so you can imagine how much you have to listen to hear. When you add the growing noise of the world to this, it is even more difficult to listen.

I mentioned once that as a person, I choose to look to God’s mercy and grace; so my prayer daily, is that He shows me His mercy to be worthy of His direction and the grace to listen up for His voice.
