Behind the Spectacles: Two Sides to Every Story
Cultivate the habit of listening when people speak of their dealings with someone else...and then try to analyse what they say from the perspective of the other person.
Different people process situations in different ways. Unfortunately, as a result of association and natural favouritism, we may never be able to hear the side of the person that isn't closer to us (unless you are a therapist, HR boss or Parent) and we will always have one she of the story, told to us by the person we most likely have a relationship with or the one we are more fond of.
We need to train our minds to think and analyse and ask all the right questions to get a clearer picture of the truth. And this must be done before we lay blame
Let us not fall for the seduction of a single story...it will endanger us.
