TobeHacks: Time Saving Tips

It is common to hear people say "I didn't have the time". Sometimes it's reasonable stuff that kill our time and other times, it is just plain, good old lethargy that's got us being bust doing absolutely nothing.

I am a pro victim of the "No time" bug and over time, I have tried to cure myself. So here a a few things I tried and a few more I'm going to try to put into action.

1. Wake up earlier

Nothing beats getting a few extra hours to be productive in your day. Wake up an hour or two earlier. Even if you end up spending the first 15 minutes twisting and turning in bed and trying to mentally pry your eyes open, you will still have all those extra minutes to sort your day out and toss in a few more productive activities like a healthy breakfast, prayer, exercise, a to-do list or just extra time to lazy around your house, naked (if you are a happy closet nudist like me)

2. Do squats while you brush your teeth

Every girl is trying to grow a nice butt so squats are extremely popular these days. If time to get in 100 squats a day eats into your time to do other things, try brushing and squatting. It's actually pretty comfortable and makes brushing your teeth become more than a vacant vain moment in your day (for those of us that stare at the mirror while brushing our teeth and wonder at how beautifully made we are *flips hair*)

3. Conference call with family

It is healthy to have a good relationship with family members, especially when you all don't live in the same house. But it can be tiring to chit-chat with every single person individually. So make a habit of a conference call once in a while and check on everyone all at once...it saves individual call time and makes everyone feel hella good. If you have your Nigerian parents on this call, you can be sure that you would have made their week/month to give them a chance to speak to all their children at once (so technically, this is also a "How-To-Be-A-Super-Kid tip").

4. Have group chats with your BFFs

How consuming is it to keep up with all your friends and their lives? Like who is Nkem dating now? How many kids does Kemi have? When is Sa'adatu's wedding again? If you all are friends and you all tell each other most things anyway, create a group on BBM or Watsapp and you all stay in touch. That way, you never have to miss out on important friend announcements and all you need to do is check out one conversation thread. This one saves time and reduces your need for social multitasking...imagine having to chat with all 3 friends at the same time and keep up with the gist. #Stress

5. Regulate your time on social media

The greatest time killer in my books is social media. Damn. I find myself going through my instagram feeds at 6.30 am and I catch up on everything that I missed while I slept. Then again, at 6.40am I am scrolling through feeds again. When I catch myself, I think "Tobe, what could have possibly changed so much in 10 mins?". The answer is almost always the same...Nothing. Let's not even talk about my snapchat addiction...#PatheticLittleMe

So what I have done is to have a device that always has data but only has my email accounts and google maps (so I don't get lost). The other device that has my social media accounts on sometimes has the data off or gets forgotten at home or under the bed. Simple.

Got more tips? Share them. Let's save time and be productive in life yeah...muah!
