My Other Blog: Post tittled ''A Broken Reed''
Its another sunday!
A sunday that is unlike any sunday I have ever had…but I digress...
Healing!
That’s what a lot of people need…not from a physical ailment! No...From a downcast spirit…from a broken heart…from a wounded soul.
‘A broken reed I will not crush’
A priest once read that bible verse (Isiah 42:3) and told me that that was God’s promise to me. Today, I hold firmly to that promise and I ask that you share in it.
In a split second, you may see all you’ve held close break down before you…you may realise that you have been living in a dream…you may loose your reason to love and live, to have faith, trust and hope…in a short time, your whole world could come crashing down.
‘A broken reed I will not crush’
My sister once told me that when God wants to make you listen, he’ll most likely use something that he knows will BREAK you…note, the word here is BREAK.
He breaks you so you can break away from something or somewhere that is not right for you.
He breaks you so you can look for strength and turn to him to strengthen you.
He breaks you so that you can discover yourself and your purpose and find your way back to the path he mapped out for you from the day you were conceived.
He breaks you but will NEVER CRUSH you because his promise is:
‘A broken reed I will not crush’
I learnt, first hand, how much it hurts to be toyed with…how much it hurts to build trust and have it torn down.
Its a long road to recovery from that, but at each step, especially when it feels hardest and when giving up seems very attractive, I’ll remember God’s promise…and I’ll know that no matter how badly I break, I shall not be crushed.
You should believe that too.
As always…have faith and trust in your creator and find the strength to Obey his Will.
Happy sunday. Have a blessed week ahead.
